Halloween 2012

This year for Halloween Pogo was a giraffe. His favorite toy is a tiny yellow giraffe named "Jeffers", so when I saw the giraffe costume at Petco I had to buy it. It was a little big for him and he didn't like to wear the hood. When he had the hood on he couldn't see forward only down. We were in the kitchen and he had the hood down and ended up walking right into Andrew's leg. It was so funny. We laughed and laughed. Now on to the pictures.

Pogo's Christmas Spirit

Pogo showed his Christmas spirit by sporting his "Reindeer In Training" hoodie. It has antlers on the hood with bells on the ends of the antlers.

He thought the most comfy spot to sit was on my basket of freshly folded clean clothes.

Sick Puppy :(

Pogo hasn't been feeling well this last week. Poor thing has had some tummy troubles. It hasn't cleared up so he had to go to the vet yesterday. He's got a virus, they gave him a shot and some pills he gets twice a day. They also told me to give him some yogurt to get the bacteria balanced in his digestive tract. My uncle took Pogo to the appointment because I had to work. It was quite the excursion for Pogo, he wasn't thrilled with the shot, and ended up getting loose and ran off (across a highway in front of a SEMI) EEEKKKK! He wouldn't come to my uncle so I had to leave work and find them. Luckily he came right to me. I had to go back to work so I'm not sure how he felt right after the appointment, he was pretty sleepy that evening, he did have quite the afternoon!!!

I tried to get a good picture of Pogo in his costume, but I couldn't get the "perfect pic" so you will get a variety of mediocre ones instead. He also hasn't been feeling well for the last week either :(

Pogo On Adoption Day!

Pogo became part of our household on Thursday, October 1. He is a 2 1/2 year old Chihuahua, he was previously named Peaches but we thought that was kind of a girly name for him and changed it to Pogo because he bounces like he's on a Pogo stick when you have something he wants (treats, toys etc). He already answers to his new name! A friend of my aunt was giving him away because she worked too much to spend the time with him he deserves. Taryn (my cousin and roommate) and I work at opposite times most of the time. During the instances he would have to be left alone it is only for a few hours. I was a little concerned about him having bad habits we would have to break, but he is a very good dog and we haven't had any major issues at all. He has had 2 accidents but he wasn't trained to let us know when he needs to go out. We are working on that and he's getting better. He doesn't get into things he shouldn't and only barks when somebody is at the door. He didn't even whine or bark during his first night with us (we are crate training him). He is a little nervous about meeting new people and will sometimes take awhile before warming up enough to allow them to pet him. I do think he is warming up to people quicker now, I'm not sure how much socialization he had before we got him. He's brightened up our home so much in the week since we've had him. Sometimes Taryn and I  just watch him and laugh because he's so funny and adorable. I'm sure he will get plenty of blog time!
